Information to help you get the most from your visit to Cardiganshire

Travel around Cardiganshire Coast and Country

Around Cardigan Bay

Traveller's Tips

The quiet roads of West Wales make motoring or cycling a real pleasure.
Traffic speed, like the pace of life, is rather sedate so don't think of rushing anywhere.

The best way to appreciate the natural beauty of Cardiganshire is to walk or cycle. However to reach some of the remoter areas a car is required.

Getting Around

There are good bus services, taxis and bicycle hire if green tourism is your preference.

Traveller's Tips

Many minor roads leading to beaches and into remoter areas are single track. Passing points are provided so be prepared to back up if you met a car coming the other way. A smile and a friendly wave make any delay worthwhile.

Car hire is available from Carmarthen and Aberystwyth stations and from main towns.

Information of all Bus services in Wales can be obtained from the Passenger Transport Information Cymru helpline on 08706 082608

Local Tourist Information Centres have details of local travel facilities including bus timetables.

Your accommodation provider will also be able to help with travel information.

Travellers Tips.

Road signs are in Welsh and English with the Welsh first. So it takes a little longer to read. Another good reason not to drive too fast!
